There is no shortage of stunning scenery in and around the Las Vegas area. From the Red Rock Natural Conservation Area to the sparkling lights and fountains on the Strip, photographers can capture their perfect shot every time. Whether you’re looking to take nature photos or find a romantic backdrop, look no further than our list of best spots for photography near Las Vegas.

Hoover Dam

Located just 30 miles away from the Strip, the Hoover Dam is a popular place to shoot photography of not only the dam, but of the nature that surrounds it. If you’re looking to get a closer look, we suggest booking a river tour through Black Canyon River Adventures. There, you’ll be able to cruise down the river below the dam and capture the canyons and wildlife from a different vantage point.

Red Rock Natural Conservation Area (Red Rock Canyon)

Prepare to let your eyes feast on this beautiful backdrop that epitomizes the great Southwest. It’s best to visit the Red Rock Canyon at sunrise or just before sunset to capture the vibrant golden-red hews that some photographers only dream about.

Springs Preserve

One of our favorite casual places to take photography at is the Springs Preserve, located just minutes from the Strip in downtown Las Vegas. The preserve has 180 acres of trails, galleries and attractions to explore with your camera in tow. Visit the botanical garden or the butterfly habitat for some of the best snapshots to fill your camera roll.

The Fountains at Bellagio

Looking for a romantic night-time background for your next photoshoot? Head over to the fountains in front of the Bellagio hotel. Enjoy the show as the fountains and lights dance around the water for several minutes at a time. It’s a “must-see” on the Strip!

The Neon Museum

The Neon Museum is a well-known place to take photography in Las Vegas, so much so that photographers must schedule an exclusive photo walk to shoot on premises.  This is an opportunity for hobby photographers to wander the Neon Boneyard and take photos of the sign collection, for personal use, with all of their chosen equipment including tripods, multiple cameras and extra lenses.

Whether you consider photography a hobby or profession, the Las Vegas area is oozing with opportunity. We suggest spending time on the Strip capturing your favorite sites, as well as off the Strip capturing Nevada’s natural beauty. With a guided river tour through Black Canyon River Adventures, you’ll be able to step away from the downtown crowd and enjoy the serenity of nature with your camera by your side.
